Support Group is Working Hard to Make the Second Eritrean National Congress a Success The Eritrean National Congress for Democratic Change (Bayto) has issued the long-awaiting news that the Eritrean opposition groups’ 2nd National Congress will be held on May 26-30, 2016 in Addis Ababa. Furthermore, the Bato has stated its full intention that the 2nd National Congress will be financed by Eritreans. The North America Support Group (NASG) is doing the necessary preparatory work to make the goals of the Bayto a reality. Dear Eritreans, today our country is in a worst situation than any other time under the colonization of the past. Our people are enduring the atrocities committed on them by the government in their country. Our youth are fleeing their homeland in droves and are facing incredible adversities and suffering. Countless are vanishing in the seas and in the Sahara Desert. We call all opposition forces to unit under the umbrella of Bayto so that we can fight the PFDJ and its followers. NASG would like to also make a call to all justice loving Eritreans in North America to assure their participation in 2nd National Congress and provide their full support to the Bayto. In the coming weeks there will be more information on the details of the upcoming National Congress, including the logistics of the election for delegates and travel arrangements. Meanwhile, we have some key activities that we are working on including reviews of the Bayto’s three documents – (1) Constitution, (2) Charter, and (3) Roadmap. Above all, the most important activity that we are engaged on is the fundraising effort to finance the 2nd National Congress. It is very critical at this time that we do whatever we can to financially support the Bayto. It is in our hands to create the bright democratic future for Eritrea.
