Oromai (Oromay) IV 24 years of Tragedy

The Eritreans refugees are suffering such an immense tragedy in the 21st century why is it after all?

24 years of Independence without Freedom and without individual rights but mass hysteria: Today, May 2015 we were supposed to celebrate 24 years of Independence from Foreign Occupation, but the president changed Eritrea into a prison and brought a totally unexpected human slavery and desperation, especially to the Youth. Unlimited military services without payment. Mistakes lead to a situation where you would not have expected to happen. One of the big mistake we made was to give a total Trust to Issayas Afewerki to run the country and run our National affairs. This big mistake gave him an absolute power and time to destroy our country and the Eritrean relative unity which we had before independence. What he did instead is that he created division among our societies and ethnic groups. He divided us on religious lines as well as ethnic inequalities. How to mend the cracks requires a huge sacrifices and skill to manage a country based on democratic equality.

I am not going to celebrate anything at all, but mourn for the death and for the lost generations, simply I am bewildered and in deep depression. Like the Cambodian Curse the Eritrean one is at its highest,Destruction on both human and spiritual issues. We are all affected in one way or the other but we are dancing with the wolves due to our insanity. The Cambodian Curse is exactly what our “President” has been doing leading the country into a total destruction.

We all know that there is no more turning to normality. Crazy it may seem but we are in a total doomsday. Cry my beloved country, the land of my and your ancestors. Is this what we all deserved after all the struggle for Independence and Freedom? I am still as nationalist as I used to be in the 60ties but uncertain for the Future of Eritrea and its people today..
