Here are some reactions:<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/media\/images\/75306000\/jpg\/_75306515_line976.jpg\" alt=\"line\" width=\"464\" height=\"2\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Zambia: Music blackout and boycott<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zambia\u2019s biggest private radio station Q FM has announced on its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10153758026017662\">Facebook page<\/a>that it has \u201cindefinitely blacked out the playing of South African music in protest against xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals taking place in that country\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/media\/images\/82387000\/jpg\/_82387535_55580add-c26a-4280-a26b-325648098155.jpg\" alt=\"picture of QFM radio logo with no to xenophobia caption\" width=\"624\" height=\"351\" \/><figcaption>The radio station now features a special protest logo on its Facebook page<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe need to send a clear message to South Africans that violence on fellow Africans negates African unity which the forefathers of the continent fought for,\u201d the station said.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/media\/images\/82387000\/jpg\/_82387533_ankdph2xaxiyvnrtfhrb4h3hwqlb0psknoacxkscsqfn.jpg\" alt=\"Protest in Lusaka\" width=\"624\" height=\"351\" \/><figcaption>Protesters in Zambia were encouraged to wear black using the hashtag #blackfriday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Earlier, a small group of Zambian protesters went to the South African High Commission in Lusaka to complain about the xenophobia, reports the BBC\u2019s Meluse Kapatamoyo.<\/p>\n<p>Malumbo Siwale in Zambia\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/malumbosiwale\/status\/588933642459729920\">tweeted<\/a>\u00a0using the hashtag #blackfriday, which has been trending on twitter in Zambia: \u201cNot buying or using South African products today, fight #xenophobia by pressuring the #SA govt to act #blackfriday\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/blogs-trending-32317722\">#Xenophobic SA: Reaction on Twitter<\/a><\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/media\/images\/75306000\/jpg\/_75306515_line976.jpg\" alt=\"line\" width=\"464\" height=\"2\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Mozambique: Mine and gas workers evacuated<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A road block has been set up near the Ressano Garcia border post with South Africa by a group of people who are stopping vehicles with South African number plates from entering the country and reportedly stoning some of them.<\/p>\n<p>Mozambican workers at mining and gas companies have also protested about the violence, downing tools on Thursday demanding that South African employees leave \u2013 and that their jobs should be taken by those fleeing the violence in South Africa, says the BBC\u2019s Jose Tembe.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/media\/images\/82389000\/jpg\/_82389359_4f1a5bf1-32cd-44e7-ac07-18c2189e877e.jpg\" alt=\"Sasol's headquarters in Johannesburg\" width=\"624\" height=\"351\" \/><figcaption>South Africa\u2019s largest oil producer Sasol is repatriating 340 South Africans from Mozambique<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>South African petrochemicals firm Sasol and Brazilian mining giant Vale have since evacuated some of its foreign workers.<\/p>\n<p>The government has asked people not to retaliate against South Africans and urged Mozambican not to go to South Africa \u2013 some make the trip from the capital, Maputo, to go shopping at the weekend \u2013 so the situation does not escalate.
