Hundreds of Eritrean refugees living in Ethiopia are demonstrating in the capital, Addis Ababa, in support of the UN’s\u00a0recent human rights report into Eritrea, known as the\u00a0Commission of Inquiry,\u00a0that said there were systematic crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n

“It is not law that rules Eritreans – but fear,”\u00a0the report said<\/a>, which details allegations of\u00a0extrajudicial killings, sexual slavery and enforced labour.<\/p>\n

The government described the report as “politically motivated and groundless”.<\/p>\n

The protesters\u00a0are\u00a0carrying banners calling for Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki\u00a0to be taken to the International Criminal Court.<\/p>\n

They have also\u00a0presented a petition to the African\u00a0Union asking it to push for the full implementation of the report.<\/p>\n

Protests are\u00a0also taking place\u00a0in northern Ethiopia where thousands of people who fled Eritrea over the years are now living\u00a0as refugees.<\/p>\n
