TRIPOLI \u2013 Three migrants died in Libya to remind the international community that there are over 40 thousand people in Libya are waiting to be released from detention centers and receive protection, Italian Avvenire paper reported.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>All three dead are Eritreans, who were arbitrarily locked up, malnourished and left without medical treatment.<\/p>\n Adal Debretsion died on 12 January in Sabha\u2019s concentration camp.\u00a0<\/span>He was only 16 years old. His fellow prisoners say that Adal\u2019s mother has begged in recent years to find the money for the ransoms asked by traffickers when he was a child when he reached Libya from Sudan for the first time in 2017.<\/p>\n He tried unsuccessfully to cross the Mediterranean in 2018, but the Tripoli-based Coast Guard, led by militants who are often traffickers and supported by Italy, took him and brought him back to Tarik at Sikka detention center in Tripoli, and then to Sabha.<\/p>\n On Thursday 9 January, two other Eritrean refugees, among the 4,000 registered by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), were shot dead in Tripoli neighborhood of Gergarish.<\/p>\n The two victims were Freselam Mengesha, 31, and Kiflay Fissahazion, 37.
